nz raguler monthly meeting of the Fort Collins Tarim and. Recreation Advisory Board
xza opened by the chairman, Mr. C. W. Peterson, at 7,00 p.m., ray 200 1969. The
minutes of the hpr£l meeting were corrected: The name of the student intern for
this quarter was Hiss Mudd Gruber, and the project underway at the present time
ie a proposed tedoor swimming pool.

In the outdoor recreation class of CbU, was read.
Mr. 11. R. Phillips reported that the City CaLmcil approved the boating program for
City Par': lake. Three paddlz boats and two yak -yaks have been purchased. Plans are
being mad-c for on.aration of the program. No private boats will be allowed on the
lake. Opcaing date is rI aor.'al Day.

been appointed and hes been broken down into the following subcoammn'ttces: schedule,
fiau+ace, pool, location; promotion, and consulting personnel. Other members are
welcome as they desire ar..d as needs dictate. Correspondence will be done through
the Recreation Office and the public schools office. Mrs. Donohoe is chairman
of the steering coamaittee.
In discussion of the pool, it wza pointed out that consideration should be given
as to whether the pool should be designed for instructional and/or a-Uhletic use.
It was also suggested that c'm=nity people Who are not currently or. boarcb or
cOmitteee directly eanrectcd with Clio recreation or school programs erd who are
understsrd'ng and knowledgeable of cammunity needs should be asked to serve on
the com,aittes or at least be completely informed about plans for the pool. These
people will be invalu.ble in educating the public as to the critical need for an
Indoor pool in Fort Collins.

a*Milable from the city and from public school funds. It was susgasted that Mrs.
Donohoe and two or three other Board members moat with Mr. Ward Fisher and Mr. Boltz.

papers or getting perauission from federal authorities so that seeding cat: be started.

that s atoi-mittee be rppointed to study the best method of supervision sad make a
proposal at the ngzt wooti:ng. Mr. Garwood :coved that the Board meet during the
atamier months. The motion was seconded by Airs. Donohoe and passed. The committee
appointed for the study of Clan golf course operations Air. Al Patties, W. Gary
Garwood, and Mr. Stewart Case.

Mr. James reported that all sum er progrmnt are ready .
Hr. Phillij)a repotted that the swimming pool floor has been repaired, the Edora
Park dawn Is full, ball diamonds will be ready for tittle League, and 15 acres
will be grassed by August.
The Dutch elm disease is still being carefully studied.
The meeting was adjourned.
