It waa opened at 7s00 p.m. by the chairman, Mr. C. W. Peterson: The minutes of the July meeting were approved, Mr. Marvin Garfield., president of the Fort Collins Municipal Coif Association., was present. He reported that the Golf Association Board of directors had voted to support the proposed recommendation to the City Council. This recommecaestion was presented to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board at the aLy meeting, and action was tabled until after the action of the Golf Association was reported . The recommendation states that Fort Collins golf courses shall he administered by a board appointed by the City Council. The board will have a membership of five persons to be recommended jointly by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Fort Collins Municipal Golf Association. Dr. Al Pettine moved that the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board accept this proposed recommendation. Mrs. Don Donohoe seconded the motion, and it carried. It was agreed that commencement of tenure on the board should correspond to other board appointments by the City Council and should be on a calendar year basis. This information will be contained in a letter accompanying the recommendation. Mr. Stewart Case gave a brief history of the Municipal Golf Association. Construction of a clubhouse on the new golf course was discussed. One plan for this clubhouse has been drawn, and it was felt that perhaps some chenges should be made. The suggestion was made that a storage building for golf equipment might be built separately from the clubhouse. Mr. Gary Garwood and Mr. Case will continue to work with the Golf Association on this matter. Mrs. Donohoe reported that a letter had been sent to the City Council requesting a budgeted item for an indoor swimming pool. Further contact is to be made with the Board of Education of Poudre R-1 School District requesting a definite commit- ment of funds to match the item in the city budget for the pool. The proposed budget of the Parks and Recreation Department for 1970 was discussed A letter will be sent to the City Manager supporting the budget request. There was some discussion of proposed park sites, particularly a site along the Poudre River to replace Buckingham Park. The meeting was adjourned. Presents Mr. C. W.
