HomeMy WebLinkAboutParks And Recreation Board - Minutes - 11/25/1975F )COi.TANS PARKS $M RrCRBATION -12TMENT Meeting .-- Havembes 25, 1975 The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was ca:°led to order by President Bob Hunt at 7:35 P.M. at the Fort Collin Community Center. Minute" of previous meeting were approved as presented. Gladys Eddy, former Board President, presented plaques to J. Ray French and Don Southwick in recognition of their years of service on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Drs. Douglas Murray and Bob Pike have requested a meeting with the Board to discuss the football program and poasibl.,. safety measures, Bob Hunt suggested the entire meeting could be devoted to this topic and that :other interested people be invited to attend. This will take place at the January 27th Board Meeting. Tom Frasier reported that a bill aor the iedoor pool had been put together by Parks and Recreation people and presented to the School Board. The bill had been figured on the number of hours usage by th- School District and on a percent- age basis. Tom's report also included the fist draft of rental fees and building policy schedules based on Poudre R-1 pol,:'.cies and other recreation departments' policies. The rates are set pretty high anc include overhad, setup and cleanup expenses. There are two (2) rates: 1. Commercial - profit making; organirationra collecting money to be used on own behalf. 2. Community -- non-profit organization furthering social, intellectual or recreational 5nterests of comumity. Swim fees here are now the highess, municipal fees in the state, along with Boulder, The pool rental fee is about the Name as the poo.i. at Moby Gym - $25.00/hour and 5OC/person over 50 people. Fees for tennis courts and ballfi,,:�ds should be z>ettled by May let; policies concerning Tennis Club usage of ccr„arts will also have to be made. As proposed, reservations for a court will have to be made at the Parks and Recreation office. The fee will be $3.00/hour. Ballf.i.eld fees are $10.00 for a two (2) hour period, plus $5.00 for field preparation. (This is for 1.975) Concerning the use of a sliding sc�­;le for recreation fees, Tom had checked with eight (8) recreation superintendents from surrounding commtinities - all felt sliding scale fees weren't feasible. Tennis Club representatives wish to come to a Boa d meeting to discuss fees and court usage. This will probably take place at tbw February meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
