NOVEMBER 27, 1979
• The meeting was called to order at 8:10.
The minutes of October 23 were approved as read.
STATEMENTS OF GENERAL PHILOSOPHY
Ken Nelson & Bob Crocket agreed to work on statement to be discussed at the
next meeting.
PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE TREE ORDINANCE
Tim Buchanan presented a preliminary document describing the main changes
proposed. They were:
a) that the city be responsible for removal and replacement of trees
on public rights of way.
b) allow cottonwoods, willows and box elders.
c) basic pruning maintenance only would be provided by the city.
Moved Nelson, seconded Reid.
The Board recommends approval of the proposed changes in the Tree Ordinance as
outlined in the November 19 letter from the City Forester to the City Manager.
Carried.
FORESTRY RULES AND REGULATIONS
A revised version of previous rules and regulations pertaining to the Fort
Collins Tree Ordinance was presented by the City Forester and discussed in
detail by the board. Although there was general support from the board as
to the direction and purpose of the revisions, several members felt that
there was a need for many small corrections and alterations before a motion
for approval from the board could be passed.
OTHER BUSINESS
Discussion of Park Plans was deferred until the next meeting.
The current status of capital projects was outlined by H.R. Phillips.
Dwain Miller asked the secretary to send a letter of appreciation to the
council for tickets to the show "Aint Misbehaving".
The meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
Next meeting January 22, 1980.
