HomeMy WebLinkAboutParks And Recreation Board - Minutes - 09/23/1980PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD REGULAR MEETING: September 23, 1980 - 6:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Secretary Ken Nelson at 6:35 P.M. A quorum was not present, so no official Board action could be taken. Officers Ray Martinez and Walt Vanatta from the Fort Collins Police Department reported on problems at City Park. They proposed the possibility of better lighting in certain areas, particularly around the restrooms. Also, the possibility of locking the restrooms at some reasonable hour was suggested. H.R. agreed to try and set up a joint session to further explore possible solutions. Don Showalter presented an update on his Safety Town Proposal. Several questions were asked and suggestions were made by staff and Board members. The softball program was discussed, particularly in response to the large contigent present at the last City Council meeting. Tom Smith expressed concern over the charge being made to individual teams vs. what they get in return. Some Board members assured Tom that they understood his concern and expressions in this regard have been aired in the past. H. R. explained the progress of on the November ballot and has and the City Council. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
