GRIVANCE AXD INVESTIGATION COAMITTEL
October 15th Meeting
The Grievance ant Investigation Committee had an open meeting on low
cost housi arc and -relate9. problems. Approximately twenty pecple with J*m-

Development program committees were set up on .senior citizen housing
(Joanne Knight), low cost housing plans (Henry Chavez), sexier district
development (Louie Orteviz) and housing code (Fran 's:ompson). it will be
the job of this committee (Grievance and Investigation) to check periodi-
cally with each development committee to assess progress and assign help
where needee_.
Other .areas of importance that should be brought to the atteutioa
of the puma.: Relations Commission are the need for person to person finan-
cial and fir-.ancial guidance for people of low income groups. This is of
particular importance in obtaining loans for home improvements and purchasing
homes. home improvement education is needed to instruct in: {chat needs to
be done and how to do it. Day-care centers are needed for children of work-
ing mothers of low income groups. These centers could second for places of
instruction on "house rife" skills for those watching the children.
IV is hoped that the human Relations Commission can and will act as a
sensitive nucleus to start; ;rode, assist, provide the avenues of actAon and
pressure a?:tt;follow to a beneficial conclusion these .and other proarams
bask to tha human r0 anions of Fort Collins.
