Purpose of Meeting Was: - to get acquainted August 10, 1980 Members Absent: Karen Mack Sam Blanco Joe Hernandez Staff: John McGraw Rosita Bachmann - to discuss possible goals, objectives and activities for the 1980-81 term II. Accomplishments of this Session: - understanding of what past Human Relations Commissions have done - understanding of status of sub -committees - deleneation of projects to be accomplished Commission members present agreed to continue their work on the following subcommittees: - Police/Citizens Committee members: Shoemaker, Mack, Liebert) - Revenue Sharin /Larimer Count Resource Board members: Jerman, ntiveros, Shoemaker - Handicapped Advisor Board member: Beverly Jensen - Counci . Jerman, untiveros III. Possible Goals for 1980 Include: Commissions a. to increase coordination and cooperation with other agencies that impact the issues addressed by the HRC. Drop -Out Rate of Students at PRI: Does it have an effect on the local employment situation? Groups which could facilitate information: School Counselors - PRI Hispanos Unidos Group Bilingual Director at PRI PTO members and PAB PRI Administration c. Employment at the City of Fort Collins - Selection Process: Are there any problems? Groups which could facilitate information: City Council Personnel Board • Department Heads Employee Associations Action Taken: Items a,b, & c listed above are to be deleneated further at the Human Relations Commission regular meeting of September.
