Minutes were corrected in Section If to read: "Fifteen members were chosen." and Mike Powers name was added to the list of individuals to whom thanks was given to. II. Sam Blanco introduced the guest speaker, Lew Wymisner,from Larimer County Employment and Training Services. Lew gave us information on Latimer County employment statistics and potential labor force. For example: > Fort Collins has the second highest educated population on the front range after Boulder. However, wage scales are far lower than in other cities. > To attract industry there must be a supply of trained labor force in the city. III. Police Sub -Committee will meet on its own before the next meeting. IV. EEO Sub -Committee The letter which the EEO sub -committee wishes to send to the City Manager was discussed at length by the Human Relations Commission. The meetings are held every Tuesday at 720 Wood Street, the City Of Fort Collins Training Center. In order to keep HRC members informed, the first months minutes will be sent to all the members. The task force has developed a goal statement and time lines have been established. VI. HRC Award Press releases are now ready and flyers which go out with the City utilities bill will include a piece on the award. VII. Other Business > Commission members attendance policies were discussed and it was voted unanimously that a new HRC appointment should be made. City Council will be notified of the opening on the commission. > HRC members will receive free tickets to the Jessie Jackson speech and reception on February 17, 1985. Members must R.S.V.P. by February 1st. > The Board and Commission Banquet will be held February 22, at the Lincoln Center. R.S.V.P. by February 1st to the City Clerk's Office. VII. Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,February 20, 1985, 4:30-6:30 p.m. CIC room.
