Bud Reed Sam Blanco Sue Bartels Ernest Chavez Randy Ross I. The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. A correction was made of the March minutes. Under guests, Assistant Mayor Barbara Rutstein was changed to Council member Barbara Rutstein. The minutes were approved as amended. II. The HRC monthly meeting time will remain the same; the third Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. III. The Human Relations Award Committee recommended Frances Thompson as this year's recipient of the fourth annual Human Relations Award. A motion to accept Frances Thompson was made by Sam Blanco and seconded by Paul Loopo. The motion passed unanimously. There was discussion on having two awards presented next year; one to an individual and another to an organization. A motion was made to make this a consideration for next year by Sam Blanco and seconded by David Lipp. The motion passed unanimously. IV. EEO/AA - The interviews of randomly selected City employees is almost completed. The Committee will report next month of its interpretation of findings. A motion to accept the Proclamation was made by Paula Christina -Huddle and seconded by David Lipp. The motion carried. The Proclamation will be presented to the City Council for approval. The Colorado Civil Rights Commission has been authorized to hear cases concerning AIDS as a discrimination issue. The AIDS Committee is planning an educational forum for Fort Collins' citizens. Cable and phone services may be included in the forum to increase public access. No date has been scheduled. VI. CED - The HRC By -Laws will be finalized as soon as the CAB Committee submits a mission statement. Monday, August 4th, (7-9 p.m.) has been selected as a tentative date for the Northern Colorado Regional HRC gathering. A letter will be drafted to notify Loveland, Greeley, Longmont and Boulder of this event. VII. CAB - The Committee will submit a mission statement so that the By -Laws may be finalized. David Lipp will report next month on the status and activities of the CAB and the Human Resource Committee. VIII. Polygraph - No report. IX. Police - No report. X. Council member Barbara Rutstein requested HRC to discuss the similarities between HRC and the newly formed Commission on the Status of Women. It was suggested that the two Commissions share a liaison; HRC member to be a liaison to the Commission on the Status of Women. It is the HRC's opinion at this time that the liaison would not be necessary. However, it was stressed that the two Commissions should work together whenever necessary so not to duplicate efforts. XI. Next months meeting is May 21, 1986, at 4:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
