Staff provided the Board with the April monthly report prepared by SouthRidge for the City. The Board would like to continue receiving these reports. There will be further discussion at future meetings regarding the Board's role with SouthRidge. 1989 Fees and Charges Preliminary Philosophy Discussion Staff and Board members discussed various options. Tom Skillman said that significant changes to our fees could impact SouthRidge play, which could then cause a crunch on Collindale and City Park Nine. Bill Metier asked what is our philosophy, profit or service, or a combination. Tom said he still fully supports annual passes, but does not feel they would be appropriate for SouthRidge because of the large construction debt. Dick Zubradt is concerned about Saturday tee times and the ability to get a reservation. With regards to fees, he said why fix them if they aren't broken. He also said golf is a great teacher of temper control for youth Golf Board Minutes May 18, 1988 Page Two and he would not want young people to turn away from the game because of money. He said the Parks and Recreation programs and golf programs in Fort Collins are great and probably some of the best products out there for the dollar. Steve Jouard asked staff to check out how well the Longmont experiment of adding a per play fee to annual passes has worked. With regards to the preparation of the 1989 budget, the Board and staff feel that maintaining the existing system is probably the best alternative. Other Business - Jerry P.
