HomeMy WebLinkAboutCultural Resources Board - Minutes - 02/27/1980'1 • •CMS. :730 Paz 131 February 27, 1980, 7:30 p.m. City Council Information Center Sur nary Minutes Present: Cultural Resources Board - Barbara Cain, Jim Weitz, Michael Griffith, Ross Loomis, Jack Curfinan Staff: Brian Moroney, Vicki Sanstead, Edwina Echevarria, David Siever I The meeting was called to order by Ross Locams, Chairman. II Museum Business A. Brian Moroney, Museum Manager, went over his 1979 Annual Report, outlining programs, achievements and projects from the past year. B. Discussion: present status and possible future plans for the Janis cabin, the Schoolhouse and other areas in the Museum courtyard. C. Discussion on 2 permanent exhibit cases planned for this year (1. Folsom points, 2. Natural history wall). D. Discussion of accreditation goal by the American Assoc. of Museums. E. Jack Curfman will proceed with a scale model design of the Miller Memorial as soon as he gets further specifications from City staff. III Landmarks Business A. City Council Trolley proposal public hearing on April 1. B. Letter to be sent from CRB to City Council asking that the Maxwell property historic designation request be put on Council agenda ASAP and that the request not be delayed because of the issue of the moving of the stone wall. C. The Board passed the motion to recommend that the Atkinson property at 930 West Mountain Ave. be designated a local historic landmark. IV Lincoln Center Business A. Scaffolding installed and paid for. B. Goal -have catering kitchen up to code by March, 1980. C. 2 bids for security system at Lincoln Center received. D. A transformer (70KV) that can handle any power requirement is needed (not up to code now). E. LCC Guild wants to implement By -Laws, now that they have been approved by Council. F. Acoustical moveable wall needed between Mini -theatre and Exhibit Hall to alleviate sound -bleeding problem (a first priority for Guild fund-raising committee). V Suggestion - CRB/City Council joint meeting in the spring. Meeting adjourned at 10:36 p.m.
