IIIStaff `Reports A. Museum , Brian Moroney 1. Attendance through July 31, 1979 and July 31, 1980, canpared: 15,250 persons served as of the'end of July, 1979 15,519 persons served as of the end of July, 1980 194 tours conducted as of the end of July, 1979 207 tours conducted as of the end of July, 1980 119 programs and events as of the end of July, 1979 87 programs & events as of the end of July, 1980 2. Storage is a critical problem. B. Lincoln Coa mnnity Center - David Siever 1. The Docent training program will begin in September (3 sessions). Alyce Milton is the new coordinator. 2. Foothills Civic Theatre's first production in the Performance Hall ("Oklahoma") was a success. They are looking at doing one production per year in the main hall. 3. The stage floors have been refinished. 4. Fund raising for needed items at Lincoln Center is progressing well. 5. Space is needed by theatre groups to build sets. If anyone knows of available space, please contact David Siever at Lincoln Center. C. Cultural Resources - Ellen Thexton 1. Arts Series season ticket sales will stop September 1, at which time single tickets will go on sale. 2. A reception for Michio Takayme, artist,,will be on August 28, 5-7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center gallery. IV Proposed name changes of Lincoln Cam unity Center and Lincoln Canmmity Center Colleen Cassell announced the proposed name changes: Lincoln Comamity Center to Lincoln Center and Lincoln Camwnity Center Guild to Lincoln Center League. Michael Griffith moved that the Board reconnend that the proposed name changes be approved. The motion was seconded. Discussion. Ayes: All Board members present. Nays: Jim Weitz (absent -proxy vote). Page 2 V Policy_ for ackaiowledging gifts to LCC (art works, other items) with pl The Board discussed this issue as it pertained to Lincoln Cammnity Center and the Museum and then requested Mr. Siever to ask the Lincoln Cammmty Center Guild Design Committee to come up with a suggested policy regarding plaques which acknowledge donors and to bring that recommendation to the Board. Further, the Board asked that the reasons for reoamieniing any policy change or no policy change be substantiated by the oamiittee. VI Design Review - Exterior fire escape plans for La Court Hotel on Pine St. The Board studied the design plans and discussed them. Pauline Birky-Kreutzer made a motion that the plans be approved as appropriate. Randy Brillhart seconded the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. VII Building Hermit process for landmarks proiect A copy of the flyer explaining the design review process for designated landmarks and/or districts, which will be distributed to prospective developers, property owners and tenants, was handed out'to the Board and then explained by Ellen Thexton. The Board discussed the flyer and made several suggestions to improve its workability. VIII Work session on landmark ordinance changes Michael Griffith, Chairman of the Board's ccumittee on landmark ordinance changes, brought up his concerns with the present ordinance and outlined several suggested changes. John Dewhirst made note of the suggested changes and Mr. Griffith said he would put those concern§ in written form to give to City Council at the Sept. 9 work session. IX Report on Schoolhouse Pauline Birky-Kreutzer announced that there will be an exploratory meeting on the Schoolhouse with interested groups on September 9 at 4:30 at the Museum.
