MEETING - January 11, 1971 - MINUTES
Minutes of the Golf Board meeting, January 11, 1971, 7:00 P.M. at
the NCR Building.'
Present were - Wilbur Garfield, Marvin Garfield, Doug Phillips,
H. R. Phillips, Stew Case, Bill Metier and Jack Washicheck.
Absent - Gary Garwood
President Wilbur Garfield opened the meeting with discussion of the Golf
Pro Contract, which was recommended to Council and passed by Council
-on December 17, 1970. President Garfield read the contract verbatum and
questions that arose were answered by board members and Mr. Metier.
Changes that were recommended are
Item 3-E on page 2 - the word "liquor" was crossed out and "beer"
was inserted. Also, on page 3, the word "liquor" crossed out and "beer"
inserted.
Under Item 3-F, the words "at the 18 Hole Golf Course" inserted
after the first sentence.
Under Item 3-G, insert "at the 18 Hole Golf Course" after the words
"first party".
Q Under Item 3-I, insert the word "seven" instead of the word "six"
and cross out the letter "6" and insert the letter "7".
Under 3-J, insert the words "when needed" after the word "starter'.'
in the first sentence.
Strike out the sentence "9 Hole Course will be closed Monday".
Under 3-L insert the words "for both courses" after the word
"pro shop" in the first sentence.
Under 3-M, insert the work "five" in place of "ten" and cross out
the word "usable".
The Golf Board, in agreeing to change the golf ball fee that the Pro pay
5C instead of lOC, said they would review the agreement with the Pro after
the course has been opened for a period of several weeks if either party
is not satisfied with the results.
Stew Case moved and it was seconded by Jack Washichek that the Latin America
Tournament be approved for the first Sunday in August. (August 1, 1971)
Arrangements for the tournament must be made through the Golf Pro and manager.
The Board instructed the secretary to send a letter to Dick Maxwell, Chairman,
indicating the approval and that the Golf Board must receive an application
each year because the Board cannot commit itself in advance.
CMarvin Garfield moved and it was seconded by Stew Case that a one-year membership
be sent to Bob Shields and family as thanks for contributing the dirt and sand,
which will be used at the golf course.

Stew Case moved and Doug Phillips second6d, that the following names be
recommended to the City Council for the two golf courses.
9 Hole Course - Mountain View Golf Course
18 Hole Course - - - Collinwood Golf Course
