GOLF ADVISORY BOARD
January 18, 1978
The meeting was called to order by President Jim Mitchell at 7:30 P.M.
Ken Rivers was introduced as the new Board member appointed by City
Council to fill Vern Schuster's vacancy.
It was reported that City Council approved our recommendation to
reduce the green fee rate at City Park Nine on weekends.
A letter from H. R. Phillips regarding 1978 tournaments and the fee
policy was sent to all groups holding tournaments in 1977. Some
reaction to the letter was received by various Board members and
discussion followed.
The Board discussed the possible replacement of Tom Peck and the
method to be followed.
H. R. Phillips reported that the Collindale Concession is now one for
bids.
H. R. Phillips has received the soil test report on the Pine Ridge
property. Results appear to be favorable. H. R. will distribute copies
of the survey to all Board members. H. R. will now request a water survey
with preliminary results to be completed for the Council review in the
spring.
Dave Sadler reported that work has been progressing on the sprinkler
system at City Park Nine. With the approval by Council on revenue
sharing, work is expected to resume approximately March 1.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
President Mitchell will write to the City Attorney to resolve the
ownership of City Park Nine.
Meeting date of February 15, 1978 was set for the next meeting.
