GOLF COURSE ADVISORY BOARD
Minutes of Meeting - 6/6/79
This special meeting was called to order at 7:30.
City Council has requested the board to reconsider the recommendation
not to apply an expansion fee surcharge for 1979, and to report to the
council on 6/12/79.
After some discussion, the board voted to keep the original recommenda-
tion. Reasons included:

a. A general feeling that the architectural/feasibility study should be
completed first.
b. The possible legal implications of additional charges after annual
memberships are sold.
c. The overall administrative problems of collecting a surcharge
from people with memberships.
It was agreed that a surcharge (probably $.25/9 holes) should be included
in both greens fees and membership fees for 1980. K. Rivers also
suggested that a higher fee for non-residents should be considered.
If the city council still requests that some additional fees be collected
in 1979, it was agreed that we would recommend an increase in daily
greens fees of $.25 for each nine holes, and $10 for each new membership
sold. It is estimated that this will raise $5000-$7000.
J. Mitchell will present these recommendations to the city council
on June 12.
The problems associated with loss of the CP 9 sixth tee area because of
the Mulberry St. widening project were discussed. The board agreed to
recommend to city council that, if the road project must be done,
sufficient time and money be provided to rebuild that area of the course.
HR Phillips also described the proposed storm sewer project which will
go through City Park Nine.
It was agreed that the board would hold election of officers in July.
The following subjects will be discussed at future meetings:
a. Possible fence at CP 9 driving range
b. Layout of the Medema Homes subdivision south of Collindale, and
possible effects on the course.
It was agreed that the regular meeting scheduled for June 20 would not
be held unless a specific requirement arose.
