The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
Mike Hertzig and Roy Bingman of the City Engineering Department revi,�wA the
widening program for Mulberry Street which will require 71-, feet of property
be taken from the CPN golf course. This project will start in October, 1979.
Dave Satler reviewed his proposal to screen behind the existing fifth green
with trees and to relocate the sixth men's tee to the area of the women's
tee. The cost of this renovation is estimated at $8,000. Neither the
road project nor the golf budget includes these funds. The cost of golf
course modifications will be reviewed with the City Council when they review the
road widening project on September 18, 1979.
The engineering project which will require installation of sewer pipe through
City Park 9 will be reviewed at the September meeting.
The proposal by Western Slope Gas Co,, to construct a structure adjacent to
the first green at Collindale was discussed. It was unanimous that this
request is unacceptable. A location behind the second tee area was suggested
as an alternative. Mr. Phillips will discuss this with Western Slope Gas. Co..
Ron Sisson reviewed the proposed surcharge on golf fees for the remainder of
1979 with City Council at one of their regular meetings. The Council decided
to impose the charge and these funds are now being collected into a separate
account.
The preliminary budget for 1980 was presented by Mr. Phillips. A significant
increase in fees will be required because of higher operating and maintenance
costs. H. R. Phillips and Jim Nance will prepare a proposed fee schedule
which will be mailed to all board members;
The feasibility study for the Pineridge Course was reviewed with Frank
Hummel, who will perform the study. A contract will be drawn up between
Mr. Phillips and Mr. Hummel for $6,000, and the study will start within
a few weeks.
There was no further activity regarding the fence at the City Park 9 driving
range. This will be discussed further at the September meeting.

The CSU women's golf team requested permission to hold a special tournament
on September 8 at Collindale with reduced fees to generate income for their
1979 road schedule. It was agreed that the tournament could be held, with a
maximum of 64 players, for a $2.50 greens fee for non-members.
The annual social evening at City Park 9 will be held separately from the
September meeting.
The next meeting is September 19, 7:30 p.m., at 145 East Mountain Ave.
