of the City of Fort Collins was held in the City Council Chambers, Fort,,
Collins City Hall, on Thursday, January 27, 1966, at 7:30 p.m.
Councilman Thomas Bennett presided.
After reading the ordinance creating the Board, Dr. Bennett asked for
nominations for the offices of chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary. -
The following officers were elected for one-year terms:
Charles W. Peterson, chairman
Thurman F, '-IcGraw, vice-chairman
Gladys 3. Eddy, secretary .
Mrs. Belle Stewart asked :or information regarding plans for developing
the dump site northeast of the city. At the present time there is no
item in the budget allowing for this development$ but it was suggested
that the area might be sown to rye grass or some other ground cover.
It was pointed out that both Buckingham and Washington parks have
recently been supplied with playground equipment.
There was some discussion regarding making application for federal funds
available under the Economic Opportunity Act to finance a community
swimming pool. No action was taken.
The Board decided to hold regular meetings on the third Tuesday of
each month, as had been the practice with the Recreation Commission.
The meeting was adjourned.'
