The regular meeting of the Fort Collins Parks and Recreation Advisor,
Committee was called to order by the vice-chairman, Mr. Thurman McGraw,
at 7:30 in the Fort Collins City Hall, on May 17, 1966.
The minutes of the April meeting were approved.
The monthly financial statement of Club Tico was reviewed and accepted
upon motion of Mr. Ray French, seconded by Mr. Gary Garwood.
Mr. % R. Phillips gave the following report:
Thera is some question about the ownership of the Fort Collins Mountain
Park. l-lr. Phillips will check into this and report later.
Buckingham Park is being equipped with chin ladders and bars that
have been donated to that park.
The Westminster Church has presented a proposal for a park on property
adjacent to their church whereby they will lease the land for at least
a 10®year period to the city. AnotWr report on this proposal will be
given later.
City Park lake is still being treated for weeds. Some difficulty developed
in procuring the correct chemical and because the weeds are so bad it may
be some time before the lake is complete free of weeds.
The play and use area of Spring Creek Park was discussed. opinion
expressed by Committee rxnbefs favored grassing the entire aria and
then making necessary adjustments as equipment is placed in the play. area.
Committee members decided: not to hold summer meetings unless one was
necessary. The next regular meeting will be held in September.
The meeting was adjourned.
