Board was hold in the Parks and Recreation office. Chairman Charles W. Peterson opened the meeting at 7t30 p.m. The minutes of the June meeting were approved. Mr. H. R. ?hillips reported that his investigation of ownership of the Fort Collins Mountain Park revealed that it belonged to the Federal Government, and for that reason a charge for its use is justified. Mr. Phillips also reported that plans had been drawn up for a park on the property mmied by the Westminster Presbyterian Church. These plans were not accepted by the church and no further planning will'be done at the present time. Because of an error in bidding, the sprinkling system bid for Sbring Crook Par's eras not accepted by tho Fort Collins City Council. The lam has been planted in that park and is currently being irrigated by pipe. The sprinkling system will be rebid at a later time. Mr. Peterson read a letter from the Jayottos asking permission to opan ' a concession stand at City Park on Saturday mirnings during JAA football. Mr. McGraw moved that the request be refused because there is no need for this service. It was seconded and carried. Mr. Peterson was asked to Indicate to the Jayettes that a more satisfactory project might be to have a concession stand at the annual football circus to be held at the Fort Collins High School field later in the season. Mrs. Bella Stewart presented a letter from Mrs. Sarah Bennett asking specific questions about the recreation program in order to prevent other overlapping programs in the community. A reply will be prepared giving comprehensive information about the program. Problems relating to Club Tico were discussed. Mr. Dave Byers reported that 649 boys are registered for football on 29 teams. This represents an increase of 120 boys this year. Additional equipment has been ordered to meet the needs of the program. The meeting was adjourned, with the next meeting scheduled for October 18. Presents C. W.
