The regular -oweting of the Fort Collins Parks and Recreation Department
Advisory Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Charles W.
Paterson.
The minutes of the October meeting were approved.
After a discvr sion of problems which have arisen outside of Club Tico,
Pro T. W. Bennett moved that the hiring of the external security guard
of Club Ti.co be transferred to the jurisdiction of the Parks and
PecroLtion Bonrd and that the guard so employed be a commissioned
policoman. Mr. Gary Garsaod secondod the motion which was rarriod
uneninously. Mr. J. Ray French moved that the Parks and Recreation
Department and the Police Department select the employee .for this
position and that the appointment be ratified by the Advisory Board.
nr. Aennott seconded this motion which was carried unanimously.
Par. Doyle Sor.—all reported that r:tudsnts are interested in rodacorating
ono refurni::,.tng the interior of Club Tic, and that they are currently
getting bids for materials and mating arrangemnts for new furnishings.
When this project has been completed, the students would like to have
a "re-openin-." Attendance has been poor this fall.
The 1967 budgat was presented and explained by Mr. H. R. Phillips.
Mr. "Nillips showed a map of the Library Park which is to be relighted.
An addition to the Museum is under construction.
Mr. Phillips also reported that the City Council will select an
architect Par the new golf course from several names presented by
the Committeo.
The city attorney will prepare a contract for Mr. Bill Harshiser,
concessionnsire at City Park, to include three operations (the train,
the ball park, and the swimming pool) with 10% of receipts to be paid
to the city.
There was some discussion about the advisability of opening an ice
skating rink. '
The melting adjourned.
