Irr--1 a I--] FORT COLLINS PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Minutes of Meeting February 26, 1968 The ref,tlar monthly meeting of the Fort Collins Parka and Recreation Advisory Board, February 20, 1968, was opened at 7:00 p.m. by the secretary, Mrs. Gladys Eddy. The minutes of the Janvary meeting were approved. i•Yr, li, B. Phillips introduced Mr. William Jepson and Mr. Leo Knight, repre- n.rr�ativ s of the No.thern Colorado Gun Club. These gentlemen gave a report on tho Lsrimer County public firing rang9which is located near the county dump, Tree Gan Club is inter:.sted in making further improvements on the ranLo, making, aaran„ 3ments to calle*t fees for its uso, establishing hours far its -r.ne, and maintaining it. They have had offers of assistance from the Ilrmy 1snglrzex• Reserve unit tdnieh is willing to donate labor and use of rnch'.nery for the improvements. February 29 is the target date for opening with an open house. Tha Club will officially open for dances on March 1. The extersi�-�e remodeling is complete with the exception of floor refinishing •ahi-_h •n till be done lster in ttio year. A financial report si;otted 'that a total of 12,691.51 has been sent on the project to date. The work has keen dots by Mrs. Hoff, about 200 high school students, CSi7 students, iaZembzrs of the Parks and Recreation Department, and one paid employee. The Board commended Mrs. Hoff for Isar leadership in the project and ex- prassed appreciation for her fine work. Mr. Rolland Hoore reported that picnic tables have boas repainted and repaired and that back stops have been repaired. The lake at City Park has been kept rlearad for ice skatinx. Lsrry James reported that all hinter programs are closing with tournaments. Phillips reported that a new shelter is being planned for City Park and that new lights and underground watering have been installed on the north baseball diwtond at City Dark. Spring Park planting is ready. Mr. Doyle Kincaid will give an estimate for tree trimming in City Park. Mxs. Iioff raised the question of having .Club Tico open from 10:00 to 1:00 a.m. on March 2. After discussion on the matter the Board advised against IN staying open past.12:30 p.m., with the P3pferred closing time being 12:00 M. The meeting was adjourned.
