Call to order (5:00 p.m.) - Jane Nevrivy II. Consideration of tonight's Agenda Moved to be accepted as stated - Angela Brayham Second - Jennifer Beccard Passed unanimously III. Consideration of minutes of July 27, 1994 Motion to accept minutes as amended - Karen Warren Second - Angela Brayham Passed unanimously IV. Meeting Attendance - Jane Nevrivy moved to establish a guideline for attendance at meetings which would subject a member to being removed from the Board if they miss three meetings in a one year period (excused or unexcused). Jennifer Beccard seconded. The motion was defeated 4 to 3. Those voting in favor were Jane Nevrivy, Angela Brayham, and Jennifer Beccard. Voting against were Fran Johnson, Deborah Romero, Bill Cordiner, and Karen Warren. Fran Johnson moved to establish a guideline that would grant Board members four absences in a one year period (excused or unexcused). Deborah Romero seconded. The motion was defeated 4 to 3. Those voting in favor of the motion were Bill Cordiner, Fran Johnson, and Deborah Romero. Voting against were Jennifer Beccard, Karen Warren, Angela Brayham, and Jane Nevrivy. Karen Warren moved to establish a guideline for attendance at meetings which would subject a member to being removed from the Board if they miss three meetings in a one year period (excused or unexcused). Jennifer Beccard seconded. Jane Nevrivy seconded. Fran Johnson moved to table the motion until the next regular meeting. Bill Cordiner seconded. The motion to table the motion was defeated 4 to 3. Those voting in favor were Bill Cordiner, Fran Johnson, and Deborah Romero. Those voting against were Karen Warren, Jennifer Beccard, Jane Nevrivy, and Angela Brayham. The original motion submitted by Karen Warren was then passed 4 to 3. Those voting in favor were Karen Warren, Jennifer Beccard, Jane Nevrivy, and Angela Brayham. Those voting against were Bill Cordiner, Fran Johnson, and Deborah Romero. It was discussed by the generally last two and that everyone should be their plans to be there meeting. Board that meetings one half hours and on time and make for the entire VI. Joint City/CSU Cultural Facility - Mike Powers updated the Board on the progress of the feasibility study on a combined facility. CSU officials asked staff to withdraw the request to Council for money to fund the study because they perceive a conflict with fund raising they are conducting for the library. This topic will be reviewed in the future when CSU officials feel the timing is right to move ahead with this project. VII. Old Fort Collins High School - Mike Powers updated the Board on the possible uses of the soon to be vacant high school. Analysis of options and cost is currently underway including library and recreational uses of the facility. Mr. Powers will continue to update the Board on the progress of this project. VIII. Retreat/Social Event - Bill Cordiner discussed the need to meet in a retreat type setting to discuss issues in more depth. The Board decided to meet on Oct. 26 at 5:00 p.m. The site, agenda, and length of the meeting will be determined at the Sept. meeting. IX. Fort Fund - Riversong Request and Balloon Festival Update - Bill Cordiner moved to deny a request from the Riversong School to use a Fort Fund grant from a previously funded event that was canceled, for a later event. Jane Nevrivy seconded. Passed unanimously. The Balloon Festival has been canceled again. X. Review of past Fort Fund events - New West Fest - Deborah Romero XI. Committee and Liaison Assignments - Jane Nevrivy and Bill Cordiner (liaisons) - Fort Collins Area Arts Council (FCAAC) Jennifer Beccard (liaison) - Lincoln Center Board (Fran Johnson substitute) Angela Brayham and Deborah Romero - Museum Committee The Board agreed to eliminate the City/CSU and Riverwalk committee and CVB liaison. XII. Staff Reports - (See attached) Fort Collins Museum - Joy Poole Lincoln Center - David Siever XIII. Committee Reports - None XIV. Other Business - Mike Powers reported on a request which came to the City to place sculptures in Old Town which may be temporary or permanent. He did not have much concrete information as of the meeting, but he will keep the Board updated. XV. Adjournment (7:15 p.m.) Moved - Deborah Romero Second - Jennifer Beccard Passed unanimously Respectfully submitted, 1 4b"d dt;::� Mark Breimhorst City of Fort Collins Cult!* Library, and Recreational Seres Lincoln Center ATTENDANCE AT REGULAR MEETINGS ESTABLISHED AT ITS MEETING ON AUGUST 24, 1994 If a board member has more than three (3) absences in a one year period (excused or unexcused), staff will send that member a letter informing that person that this issue will be considered at the next Board meeting.
