HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006 - Library Board - Work PlanFort Collins Public Library Board 2006 Work Plan The Library Board will: Secure the level of funding required for excellent public library services that our highly educated community wants and is willing to pay for. . Pursue a more equitable funding model for library services in Fort Collins and residents of unincorporated Latimer County. Support a Library District ballot proposal. Advise Council about the benefits and successes of Library Districts. Work to reinstate full hours of library operation. Advocate for sufficient resources to reinstate 2005 service levels. 2. Educate the public and Council about the importance placed on our public library services by residents of Fort Collins. . Recognize community volunteer efforts and spotlight the benefit derived from the 7.32 full time equivalent volunteers. . Provide Quarterly newsletter highlighting statistics, programs and staff/volunteers. 3. Maintain and improve Board knowledge about best practices in public libraries and encourage policies and procedures that reflect these principles. Track trends and advocate positions on legislation that affects libraries. Continue review of policy developments and technology developments. 4. Review the Board Work Plan on a quarterly basis and assess the effectiveness of efforts in achieving the Board's goals for best practices and excellent collections and services. Revised 2/8/06
