MINUTES
COORDINATING COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
August 8, 1979
The regular meeting of the Coordinating Commission for Senior Citizens was held
on Wednesday, August 8, 1979 in the Council Information Center at 2:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order at 2:30 P.M. by Chairman Ed Chilcott.
Members Present: Ed Chilcott, Chairman
Lois Chung, Secretary
Eleanor Hoag
Chet Hommon
Louie LaRoche
Wilson Wilmarth
Members Absent: Esther Stratton
Darryl Farrington
Barbara S. Kienholz
Guest: Gail Woods, Volunteer Coordinator
The minutes of the June 13, 1979 meeting were approved as read. Roll call was
taken. The new members will be introduced at next month's meeting.
Wilson Wilmarth has been appointed as the new Chairperson for one year to chair
the Senior Citizens Commission. Lois Chung has been appointed Secretary for
one year.
Assistant Chairpersons for 1979-1980 for the following tasks were appointed:
1) Secretary - Esther Stratton; 2) Tax (Assist Seniors with their Tax Problem) -
Louie LaRoche; and 3) Block Grant - Ed Chilcott. Assistant Chairpersons for
other tasks will be filled at next month's meeting.
Gail Woods reported on the Senior Citizen Tax Work Off Program. Discussion
followed. This program should not raise other's taxes.' The first fifty that
apply and are qualified will be accepted for the pilot tax work off program.
Others who apply and are qualified will be put on a waiting list.
New Business: RSVP has put out cards for discount with local merchants.
The September 12, 1979 meeting of the Coordinating Commission for Senior Citizens
will be held in the Council Information Center at 2:30 P.M.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:50 P.M.
