SENIOR CITIZENS' BOARD
December 12, 1979
The regular meeting of the Senior Citizens' Board was held on Wednesday,
December 12, 1979 at 2:30 PM in the City Council Office. The meeting
was called to order at 2:32 PM by Chairman Wilson Wilmarth.

Ron Wood, Director of Finance
The minutes of the November 14, 1979 meeting were approved as written.
Roll call was taken.
Ron Wood, Director of Finance, City of Fort Collins: "City Budget". Ron
Wood gave a brief presentation prior to leaving for a special meeting. He
introduced Phyllis Griep, Budget Officer, who presented the 1980
Appropriations Ordinance in detail. The City must have a balanced budget
even at the expense of letting services go or civil servants go or raising
taxes.
Committee Reports. Darryl Farrington wrote a letter to the Lincoln
Community Center requesting possibly a special rate for senior citizens
to attend more functions. He did receive a reply from Mr. Betz, but still
there is no special consideration for senior citizens for a reduced rate.
Old Business. Wilson Wilmarth passed a letter around regarding the Senior
Citizens' Board stand 9-0 in requesting a delay for the ice rink and
swimming pool. Wilson Wilmarth also sent a memo to Verna Lewis to request
a name change to Senior Citizens' Board
New Business. Program suggestions, sharing skills, useful services exchange.
Chairman Wilson Wilmarth asked for suggestions for speakers in January.
Several were given and will be checked out. Bob Wells of the Handicapped
Advisory Committee wrote a letter thanking the Senior Citizens' Board
for their part in reducing housing costs for the handicapped.

The January 9, 1980 meeting of the Senior Citizens' Board will be
held in the City Council Office at 2:30 PM.
