HomeMy WebLinkAboutSenior Advisory Board - Minutes - 03/08/1972COORDINATING COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS Monthly Meeting March 8, 1972 Prior to the meeting of the Commission, reports were heard from Charlie Cain, Director of Finance, and Roy Bingman, City Engineer, concerning their findings related to assessment and tax deferment for senior citizens. In the area of assessments the consensus appeared to be that side walk repairs and tree removal charges would be of the greatest importance to senior citizens in Fort Collins. Mr. Bingman indicated that the City has always been receptive to a payment plan in these areas and that the Commission should approach the City Council for clarification and a resolution to this effect. Information necessary to form any conclusions concerning property tax relief appears unavailable. The Commission elected to distribute questionaires to senior citizen groups to collect some initial data. Mr. Cain indicated that his office and that of the City Clerk would assist in printing the forms. Following the discussion, the Commission met briefly to welcome Mr. Charles Shepardson as a new member. The group then elected him as secretary to succeed Doris Atkinson. The next meeting of the Commission will be held on April 12, 1972, at 3:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Respectfully submitted, Nancy Stegner Chairman
