COORDINATING COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
February 13, 1974
The regular meeting of the Commission was held in the
City Council Chambers at 2:30 p.m. on February 13, 1974.
Members present: W. B. Peterson, Chairman
Charles N. Shepardson, Secretary
Frances Bigelow
C. E. Hommon
Ed Martin
Members absent: W. J. Boggs
W. R. Deitloff
J. F. Conlon
Also present: Dr. Walter Weiss, Director of the
Larimer-Weld Agency on Aging
Virginia Dunford, Salvation Army
The minutes of the meeting of January 9, 1974, were
approved as distributed.
Mrs. Dunford discussed a program known as Telephone
Reassurance where volunteers are solicited to make daily phone
calls to shut-ins to check on their continued well being. This is
sponsored by the Salvation Army.
Mrs. Bigelow moved and motion carried that Peterson and
McGraw call on the Manager of Care -A -Van to further explore
transportation problems of shut-ins, the indigent and others as well.
Mrs. Bigelow reported on the development of an Alcoholic
Council.
The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on March 13, 1974, at 2:30 p.m.
in the City Council Chambers.
