COORDINATING CO?LMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
May 8, 1974
The regular meeting of the Commission was held in the City Council
Chambers at 2:30 p.m. on May 8, 1974.
Members present: W. B. Peterson, Chairman
Charles N. Shepardson, Secretary
Frances Bigelow
C. E. Hammon
Ed Martin
J. F. Conlon
Members absent: W. J. Boggs
Also present: John McGraw, Administrative Assistant
Minutes of the April 10, 1974, meeting were approved as mailed.
C. E. Hommon moved that the Administrative Assistant to the City
Manager should receive minutes of the Commission's meetings. Ed Marton seconded;
motion carried.
Chairman Peterson presented a copy of "A Directory of Services for
Weld County Seniors." He suggested that such a directory for services in Fort
Collins would be a good idea. The Commission agreed. The Chairman requested
that John McGraw compile the information gathered for the area agency on aging
and look into the availability of funds to print a directory of services based
on the Weld County model.
Chairman Peterson reported on the April 26th meeting of the Ad Hoc
Committee on a senior day care center. The Committee had decided to take the
case to all senior agencies in Fort Collins.
Fran Bigelow submitted a letter which was proposed by the Committee for
dispersal among the Fort Collins' senior agencies. The letter with some minor
amendments made by the Commission is attached. Chairman Peterson directed John
McGraw to see that the letter was retyped and sent out to known local senior agencies.
The meeting adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
The next meeting of the Commission will be held at 2:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, June 12, 1974, in the City Council Chambers.
