COORDINATING COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
October 9, 1974
The regular meeting of the Commission was held in the City Council Chambers
at 2:30 p.m., October 9, 1974.

MINUTES - The minutes of the meeting of September 11, 1974 were approved as
distributed.
ACTING CHAIRMAN - Mr'. Peterson requested temporary relief from duties as
chairman. It was moved seconded and passed that the Chairman's request be
approved and that the Vice- Chairman, C. E. Hommon act as chairman in.the
interim.
ADULT DAY CARE CENTER- Frances Bigelow reported on the visit to Montrose.
The delegation included Cheryl Smith, Irene Dalton of Social Services of
Weld County, Fran Bigelow, Virginia Dunford.
The Montrose Center is several miles from town. The project was financed
by one individual and some help from one church. Twenty-two people originally
enrolled - all welfare clients - only 3 were present on day of visit. Three
employees -Director, Part-time person on crafts, one trainee. 1600 sq. ft.
of space - limiteii facilities inadequate for senior citizens. A good craft
program - wood leather- pottery.
In general the delegation was disappointed with the program. Mr. Chambers
agreed to accept responsibility for getting a committee to call on all
church groups to determine needs for the Center.
COUNTY BOARD ON HUMAN RESOURCES - The County reported on the recommendations
of the County Human Resources for Revenue Sharing funding for,1975
REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL ON CONSULTANTS RECOMMENDATION - Mr. Brunton requested
the Commissions to prepare a statement on its purpose and objectives as rec-
ommended by the Councils Consultants. Mr. Shepardson will draft a prepared
statement for consideration at the next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on November 13, 1974 (Wednesday), at 2:30 p.m.
in the City Council Chambers.
