HomeMy WebLinkAboutSenior Advisory Board - Minutes - 08/13/1975i • M I N U T E S COORDINATING COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS August 13, 1975 Mr. Chet Hommon, chairperson, called the meeting to order at 2:40 pm. Members present: Mr. Chet Hommon Mr. Ed Martin Ms. Lois Patton Mr.. Jim Conlon Ms. Ginny Aragon Members absent:. Mr. Charles N. Shepardson Ms. Virginia Dunford Ms. Francis Bigelow 11r. Fred Chambers CITY MANAGER Also present: John D. McGraw, Administrator for the Dept. of. Human Resources Minutes were approved with minor corrections. A meeting was announced on August 20, 1975 with South Eventide to go over the day care idea with PACE members. All interested are welcomed to attend. The meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. at the South Eventide Center. Mr. Hommon and others discussed various aspects of the Day Care Center especially in regards to cost feasabili.ty. The Chairman opened discussion on Home Helps. A report was read .by Anita Basham, Home Helps director.. -A motion was made by Mr. Conlon and seconded by Mr. Martin to send a letter of endorsement to the County Commissioners. There was more discussion with John McGraw on the 06ay Care proposal. It was compared to Home Helps in terms of cost and service deli-e-y. It was decided by consensus that John McGraw would voice approval as needed to the COG, Area Agency on Aging. This would include our support for Home Helps, Senior Service Center, and the Day Care proposal. The sugges:.ion was made that we should work with the Dept, of Social Services.
