Senior Housing: Kay said the Task Force group has found it is the only one working on Sr. housing. Mission statement and goals being drawn up for next year. The group may join with CARE housing. Survey: F.C. Housing Authority's waitlist has about 2000 families, 200 of which are elderly (60+); "Attainable" housing is more fitting than "Afford- able" housing. Median income figures available are not realistic: AMI is $47,000. Job growth trends favors low -paying retail and service jobs, typically $12-16,000 and do not offer health benefits. Survey shows 18% of rental units are under $500 a month. Developers typically target families that earn 50-80% of Adjusted Median Income; and a starter home is $105,000 and requires owner to be in 75% of AMI ($35,000). Most people in mobile home parks are in 20-40% AMI where less building goes on. Of the 3641 mobile homes, 1473 are seniors. About 1500 additional families will require subsidized housing by year 2000; 3500 units will be needed I Cim =i2 5 o0c?F6=-1E 9 tee - ZZ yy t L• y a..-. .^ — Fco E ..GC Y O '. a) ...
