HomeMy WebLinkAboutSenior Advisory Board - Minutes - 02/17/1988METING OF TEE SENIOR ADVISORY BOARD, February 17, 1988. Present: Joe Campanella, Ruby Iynch, Nancy Luttropp, Pat Long, Yetta Rollin, Sam Rosenthal, Mildred Arnold, Philip Simon, Arlene Simon. Absent: Dwight Saunders, Ellen Connelly. Meeting called to order by Joe Campanella at 1:30 P. M. On Thursday, February 25th, the Senior Advisory Board and the Parks and Recreation Senior Board are going to make a combined trip to the new Senior Center in Loveland. Meet at the Downtown Community Center at 10 A.M., then tour the Center in Loveland and have lunch before returning to Fort Collins about 1 P.M. On Wednesday, March 9th, the regular monthly board meeting will be a van trip to Greeley, Englewood, and Boulder Centers to view facilities. Meet at the DMA parking lot at 9 A.M. Nancy reports she had a good meeting with Larry Scott and the AARP .board. -AA RP_supports a new Senior Center. DMA Plaza is circulating a petition for the Senior Center to remain downtown. DMA also wants the Center to stay downtown. Nancy also made a presentation before the Choices 95 committee. The new questionnaire submitted by Nancy was re -worked in several areas and Board members were assigned areas and organizations for the questionnaire distribution. Nancy - AARP, NAARP, Senior Center and Women's Clubs. Joe - Men's Clubs and Kings Soopers Pharmacy. Pat- Library, Oakbrook I & II, Park Lane Towers and DMA. Ruby- Telephone Survey and RSVP. Sam - Parkwood Estates. Philip and Arlene - Churches and their apartment building. The goal for the survey is the last of April and during May which is Senior Awareness Month. Articles are to be written for the Coloradoan and the Triangle Review to publicize the survey. Joe reported the Task Force Group had sold over $1,000 worth of advertising for the Senior Services Finder. Sam reports walk traffic light at hospital and lemay is better timed. Pat also noted he had observed the sane. Mildred stated she ob- jected to questions 3 and ¢ on the survey. Meeting adjourned at 3:10 P.M. Arlene M. Simon, Secretary
