The minutes were approved from the July meeting.
John Dagget, City of Fort Collins Transportation office appeared
before the Board. He stated the Transportation department was
seeking an appointment of a member from the Commission on
Disability to serve on a team to review proposals for a provider of
services for the City. Mr. Dagget explained the proposal of the bid
and the time involved. Bob Willmot volunteered to serve on this
committee.
Old Business
Shirley reported on the Code Committee. She stated the committee
will recommend to adopt chapter 31 and the appendix 31. She said if
the Commission wants to request any other requirements, they need
to appeal to the City Council.
Diane distributed a revised survey. Discussion followed and Dianne
will bring back the revised copy to the next meeting.
Debbie Kalin reported she is getting the Mayor's Award together.
She will call City Clerk's office to get a date for the awards.
New Business
Dianne brought up putting together a program where businesses that
were "truly accessible" be able to put a special symbol in their
window. This topic had been discussed before, and the Commission
decided to table for awhile.
Dianne also brought up the idea of changing the name of the
Commission. Her suggestion was Commission of Community Access. She
thought for the most part, this commission works on accessibility
issues and a new name "fits" better. The Commission decided to
table this discussion for a later date.

Other Business
Roy Beachamp mentioned there is no access for people in wheelchairs
at the Fort Collins/Loveland airport.
Mike Gebo reminded the members of the Commission that if they write
a letter from the Commission, that letter needs to be brought
before the Commission for approval. If an individual wants to write
a letter, be sure that the letter indicates it is from an
individual, not the Commission.
