HomeMy WebLinkAboutArt In Public Places Board - Minutes - 10/19/2005ART IN PUBLIC PLACES MINUTES Regular Meeting — Wednesday, October 19, 2005 Lincoln Center l: Ellen Martin Lee Needham MEMBERS PRESENT: Cori-Hixon Cunningham, Alan Howe, Libby Dale, Roger Sherman Lee Needham, Ann Wilmsen (CRB) MEMBERS ABSENT: Ray Tollison, Ann Carr STAFF PRESENT: Ellen Martin, Cory Gundlach, Jill Stilwell, Marry Heffernan I. Call to order: 3:32 p.m. — Mr. Needham II. Consideration of the current agenda. III. approval of Minutes from September 21, 2005 Mr. Howe motions to approve the minutes as amended. Ms. Dale seconds the motion. Unanimously approved as amended. IV. Citizen Participation: none V. Sheldon Lake Presentation: Ms. Martin presents the project: funds for the project are from Storm Drainage work on site. Artist Brower Hatcher is from Rhode Island. Proposed location for artwork is on the east side of the lake on a small peninsula. Ms. Martin presents the artist's project proposal. Mr. Needham motions to accept the proposal for Sheldon Lake Ms. Hixon-Cunningham seconds the motion. Unanimously approved. VI. Staff Reports: Ms. Martin summarizes current project activity to the board. VII. Other Business: APP Staff has created a new sign for "Making Tracks," by David Griggs at the Civic Center Parking Structure. A Xeriscape Garden Parry for "Watershed Stones" by Richard Hansen will be held on Friday Oct. 28 at City Hall's Xeriscape Demonstration Garden. APP Staff continues regular maintenance on projects as needed. A City board & commission appreciation event will be held on Wednesday Nov. 9, in the Canyon West Room at the Lincoln Center.
