Regular Meeting — Thursday August 25, 2005

A regular meeting of the Cultural Resources Board was held on Thursday August 25, 2005 at 12p.m. The
following members were present:
Board Members present: Ayleen Burns, Susan Beck-Ferkiss, Ann Wilmsen,
Patrick Moran, Carol Ann Hixon, Jon Wilkinson
Board Members absent: Jack Steele
Staff Members present: Jill Stilwell, Cheryl Donaldson, Marty Heffernan
Guests Present: Brenda Speaks, FCVB
I. Call to Order — (12:05p.m..) Ayleen Bums
II. Consideration of agenda - switch order of numbers V & VI.
III. Consideration of Minutes from June 2005 and July 2005 meetings
Correction for spelling of Ms. Beck-Ferkiss' name.
Motion to accept minutes as amended — Carol Ann Hixon

IV. Public hnput: Ms. Burns welcomed Ms. Speaks from the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau.
V. Role of the CRB — Discussion
The Board recapped the retreat held in July and continued the discussion of their role. The
board listed ideas including being an advocate and conduit back to council, reporting to council more
often, taking a global view, establishing a presence, raising the Board's visibility, and outlining stpes
to make these things happen. A special meeting was scheduled for September 15`h 12-1:30p.m. to
focus on this discussion.
VI. Arts & Humanities Month:
Patrick Moran gathered input from the board for the poster design. Carol Ann reported on the
development of the Treasure Hunt with Art in Public Places. Ms. Hixon also shared with the Board
those arts organizations who had responded to the Board's request for information on events in
October and donating tickets for give aways. She also stated she would like to have the listing posted

on the City's website with links to each organization. Ms. Hixon will also find out about the status of
the Arts Alive calendar for possible future reference.
VII. Review of Fort Fund process
- Liaisons were selected for each event funded at the June 2005 funding session (see attached).
- Review of past events: Ayleen attended the Holy Family Fiesta, and enjoyed the event. She
did not however, see use of the logo or a banner.
- The other items including on-line application, requiring applications to be typed, process for
not using the logo and matrix scoring were tabled to a future regular meeting due to time
limitations.

- Carol Ann Hixon noted she will not attend the next regularly scheduled meeting on September
29`".
