HomeMy WebLinkAboutWater Board - Minutes - 07/18/1967July 18, 1967 • MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE WATER BOARD Held July 18, 1967, at 3:30 o'clock P.M. in the Board Room in the First National Bank Building. Present: President Ward Fischer, Vice President Frank Ghent, Board Members W. G. Wilkinson, Owen Moore, Fred Feit, Harvey Johnson and Secretary John Bartel. Also present were City Manager Tom Coffey, Administrative Assistant John Baudek, Director of Public Works Charles Liquin, Superintendent of Water Ed Hilgenberg, a reporter from the "Coloradoan", Local Newspaper, a representative from a Bonding Co. Boettcher & Co., Dan Herrington, and the following members of the West Fort Collins Water District: Marland DeGroot, Al Trieber, Paul R. _Lawrence, Lloyd W. McNally, Ira E. Stegner, Wayne C. Shaw, Attorney D. Rex Wells and Consulting Engineer, Vic Meline. The meeting was opened by Ward Fischer indicating that the West Fort Collins Water District was having problems and called this meeting for a general discussion on what the City might do to takeover and operate the District. It was the gen- eral opinion of those present that the City and the District work together and if there was anything the City could do, it would be more than happy to do so, however, the bonded indebtedness would still be the Districtfs responsibility. After considerable discussion, it was agreed that the District prepare a financial statement, maps of the District and a pro- posal together with any other information they could gather to be presented at a later date in order to arrive at a possible • solution.
