Attendance: Alison Johnston, Beth Etter, Barb Goff, Stacey Arnold, Paula Cole, Amanda
Almon and Penny Vincent
Meeting called to order @6:25 p.m.
February Minutes approved
Announcement:
Alison commented on the strength of the organization during her absence, while dealing
with her on personal issues. She was very complimentary of the leadership in the
Women's Commission She thanked everyone for their efforts.
I. Business:
a) Beth and others members were congratulated for their roles during the
Mayor's Proclamation to the organization for Women's History Month.
Overall, job well done.
b) Women's Awards Night summary. Job well done. Suggestions: nomination
process should start earlier, review the total process (flyers, criteria, etc)
prior next year's event.
c) Special thanks to Beth, Paula and Amanda
d) Essay Contest Update: Amanda handed out a draft of Scheduled Events for
the groups' review and feedback.
e) Interview on Women's Commission: Paula shared her thoughts regarding
the interview and encouraged feedback and suggestions from the membership.
II. Website: No New Business
III. New Business: Paula shared information experience regarding her attendance at
the Boards/Commission Training program. She briefly discussed some possible
new ideas for the organization. She asked the membership to think about "What's
are goal? " Paula suggested that the group look at redefining goals, new policy
agenda, roles of officers/members, etceteras. Discuss will continue at the April
meeting.
