Call to
order: The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Special Meeting:
This special meeting was called by the Chair pursuant to section 3.2 of the
CRB bylaws.
HRC memo: Elaine Boni presented a memo to Ken Gordon, Chair Human Relations
Commission from Mayor Ray Martinez dated February 12, 2004. Of
interest was:
B. Citizen Complaint Process: The Council asks that the HRC review the
complain processes referenced in Chapter 13 and in Section 2-140 of the
City Code (see the attached) and provide any suggestions on how it might
be simplified, easily accessible, safe and confidential.
Secondly, the Council requests that the Commission work with the
community and provide feedback relative to harassment, profiling and the
complaint processes. This may include an analysis of current processes,
procedures and practices referenced above.
Ms. Boni was invited to attend the next regular CRB meeting. A request
will be made to have Mayor Martinez attend also.

Adjourn: Brian Carroll made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Becky Richardson
seconded. There was no discussion and the motion passed. The meeting
adjourned at 6:36 p.m.

Meeting: Wednesday, April 21, at 6:00 p.m. in the CIC Room, 300 Laporte
Avenue.
