New Basiness The BLN would like a letter of support from the COD on the First Jobs Career Development Project for Northern Colorado Employers and Youth with disAbilities project. They are applying for a small grant to establish the project, and letters of support will be helpful to them. The COD wanted to ensure that a letter of support would not necessarily mean a commitment of collaboration on the project. A flyer describing the program lists the COD as a prospective collaborating organization. Motion: To provide a letter of support for the BLN's project with a clear understanding that it does not imply a commitment of collaboration on the project (pending approval from city council liaison.) Motion made by Jill seconded by Laura Approved unanimously. Mark will contact our council representative and see if this support is within the scope of our purpose. If so, Jill willdraft a letter and bring to the next COD meeting. The next city council meeting, Tuesday, November 19 will address the smoking ordinance. A recommendation was made to ask Alan to represent the COD at this meeting. Mark will call Alan and see if he is available. Subcommittee Reports City-wide Training on Hiring, Disabled — Was well attended (50 — 60 people) and well received. Over half the participants were city employees. The main speaker was excellent. Art Show — Fees collected can go through the Operations budget as long as amount is under S 1000. Work Plan The COD revised the work plan for 2003. Draft attached. ADA ACCESS & ACCOMMODATION -A question arose on what the ADA Grievance Committee constitutes. Who is the committee? Who calls the committee together to hear grievances? What grievances are brought to the committee? What is the process? Tracy will get clarification. Jill will update work plan and bring back to next meeting. December 12 is next COD meeting. Upcoming — a Mayor's Awards debriefing meeting — watch your email. Meeting adjourned at 330 pm Respectfully submitted, Jill Lancaster COD Secretary
