Mayor's Awards

Many people when asked why they didn't attend the awards last year replied that it interfered with hunting
season. This, and the fact that the Marriott was very booked this year caused the BLN to schedule an earlier
time for the awards: October 6
Working with Coloradoan to get pre -coverage.
This year the Marriott will cost more and paper costs are higher adding to the cost pressure on the event.
BLN has the check from the city.
The city has mentioned that it will help with metered mail for invitations.
For the hearing impaired, we are looking into an ASL interpreter or transcriptionist from the City.
Invites for the event need to go out just before Labor Day.
Action: Need 1600 envelopes and 1600 Mayor's Letterhead by the 2nd Week (18th) of August for the
invitations.
Need 5 people to stuff envelopes
we expect to get the finished invitation material back by August 30.
Volunteers to help on Monday evening, August 30:

Rachel will do some at work.
There will be a career and lifestyle expo after the awards ceremony.
Action: Put a notice in the Electric Bill - City Notes:
Kelly DeMattino is the editor and likes 2 Months notice.
Action: Put a notice on Channel 27
Action: Steve Sutter to check with Mayor to see if available on that day
For the key note, the plan is to have several different employers and/or employees. And the goal is to try to
make it cross disabilities and cross discipline.
