Citizen Review Board Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, July 21, 2004

Present: Becky Richardson, Chairwoman, Maria Martinez, Vice Chairwoman, Jim Butzek, Brian Carroll,
David Evans CRB Members
Absent: Jim Butzek, Harry Edwards, Monica Garcia CRB Members and Greg Tempel, Senior Assistant City
Attorney absent.
Staff: Lt. Jim Broderick, Staff Liaison
City Officials: None
Call to
Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Chairwoman Richardson.
Minutes of prior meetings to be reviewed and approved.
The following minutes were reviewed:
June 16, 2004 - Motion to approve by B. Carroll, second by M. Martinez.
No discussion the motion carried unanimously.
Review of
Absences: Written notification of absences were received from Butzek, Garcia and Tempel.

New
Business: Member Items —
Received written notification from member B. Carroll of absence at next regular meeting in
September.
Discussion by B. Carroll of Training requirements for CRB members as set forth in City Ordinance
inclusive of Board member training. Request to include agenda item for specific subject matter for
attendance by members as formalized training opportunities arise. Discussion of benefits of Board
member attendance at "Citizen Police Academy." Inquiry by B. Carroll regarding copies of Chief of
Police letter to complainant and Board recommendation to be received by the Board. Lt Broderick
advised he would follow up on Board's copy of Chiefs letter to complainant.

2004-07 distributed to subcommittee members on July 15, 2004.
Scope of CRB Jurisdicatoin —
Continued to next regular meeting.
Extension request received, Case No. 2003-25. Motion by B. Carroll to approve extension with
second by B. Richardson. No discussion the motion carried unanimously.
Adjourn: At 7:30 PM Vice Chairwoman Martinez moved to adjoum. Chairwoman Richardson seconded the
motion. There was no discussion and the motion carried unanimously.
