Support Suprv. — Recreation Division Staff Members Absent: John Vander Vliet, Staff Liaison — Police Department Guest(s) Present: None Call Meetine to Order: Meeting called to order by Chairperson Abby Zier at 7:00 p.m. Approval of Minutes from March 3, 2004 On a motion by Brendon Votipka and seconded by Jonathan Fanning, the minutes of March 3, 2004 were approved unanimously (7-0). Aeenda Review: No changes. Citizen Participation: No citizen participation Aeenda• BOARDS & COMMISSIONS TRAINING Staff reminded Board members to RSVP to the City Clerk's office by April 16 as to whether they would be attending the Boards & Commissions training classes on April 19 or 23. SUB -COMMITTEE REPORTS The TRUST committee reported that letters to solicit donations for the ice cream social on April 25 will be delivered soon. Publicity is scheduled to go out next week. The Inspirational Park committee reported the Poudre High School is doing a carwash to benefit this effort; other schools are welcome to participate as well to make it a competitive event. Since Youth Advisory Board Minutes April 7, 2004 Page 2 Brendon has not received responses from the local high schools regarding a coin war, it was decided that this event may be pursued next fall when new Student Councils are installed. YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER UPDATE/FUND-RAISING The April YAC calendar/newsletter was distributed along with the March monthly report. Battle of the Bands is scheduled for Friday, April 9 as a fund-raiser for the gym. Pizza and pop will be sold, and admission is payable at the door. NORTHSIDE AZTLAN COMMUNITY CENTER UPDATE Staff was not present to report. OTHER BUSINESS • The Board agreed that there would be no regular meetings in June and July. Board meetings for the next school year would probably commence in August with some sort of get-together (maybe do a ropes course). • There will be a youth job fair on April 21 at the Marriott.
