Regular Meeting Minutes
April 11, 2002

Members present: Mark Beck, Romola Fritz, Jerry Patterson, Alan Apt, Laura Burnett, Jill Lancaster, Paul

Mark called the meeting to order at 12:12 pm.
Minutes approved unanimously. Motion made by Joan and seconded by Ruth.
Old Business:
Kudos to Paul for updating the COD Web Site. Go to fcgov.com to get to boards and commissions and
then to the COD.
Putting links on the web page is up to the discretion to the COD and any time we put a link on the web
page a disclaimer will pop up.
National Organization on Disability Award: Mark was reading one of his publications and found out that
Venice, Florida was the winner. Mark has their application if anyone would like to read it. Sixty-five
cities applied for the award. Fort Collins was not among the top ten. To find out more information about
the award, go to www.nod.org then click on community.
Recognition luncheon will be held May 23 instead of the next meeting.
New Business:
Judy and Hugh from KA Associates, a transportation consulting company out of Kansas City who work
primarily with university communities are working with Transfort on two primary issues: 1) fare structure
of Transfort and Dial -a -Ride, and 2) eligibility issues for Dial -a -Ride. They have been in town for several
days meeting with different groups who have an interest in Transfort transportation. Judy facilitated a
discussion surrounding these issues and asked for feedback from COD. Discussion questions: How did you
get here today? What are the pluses and minuses of dial -a -ride? What are your thoughts about Transfort?
What are the barriers in this community to mobility?
