Citizen Review Board
2003 Annual Report
During 2003 the board regularly met on the third Wednesday of the month to
conduct regular business. The meetings took place in the Council Information
Chambers and on several occasions members of the public attended the
meetings.
Staff liaisons Lt. Karen Carlson, Sgt. Cory Christensen and Lt. Broderick and
Senior Assistant City Attorney Greg Temple regularly attended meetings.
In 2003 the Board received a briefing on downtown crowd control, alcohol and
noise issues by members of Police Services.
During 2003, a total of nine cases were forwarded to the Board.

All were reviewed by the Board. Of note, the Board reviewed six cases in 2002
and three cases in 2001.
The Board continues to research ways to improve both the complaint process
and the investigative process. New ideas are a constant discussion point.
In November, the Board approved the 2004 Work Plan. The Board members are
enthusiastic about pursuing their goals and look forward to a productive year.
