Call Meeting to Order: Chairperson, Mike Buderus, called meeting to order at 1:40 p.m. II. Approval of Minutes: Darren Gunn made a motion to approve minutes; Dianne Heath seconded motion. The motion was carried. III. Citizen Participation: Marjorie McTaggart who is on the Board for TRIAD gave the dates and locations for the series of Homeland Security Conferences. The time for each will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fort Collins — April 9tn at the Senior Center Loveland — March 20 at the Chilson Center Berthoud — May 21" Estes Park — May 281h III. Correspondence: A. Memo from Karla Smith, Boards and Commissions Coordinator, with information concerning the Boards & Commission training sessions to be held on March 24`h & 27`h B. Memo from Karla Smith regarding the Period Review Process for Board and Commissions. The Senior Advisory Board will need to schedule an agenda item at one of the upcoming meetings during April, May or June to complete the process. Questionnaire, which needs to be filled out, to be in the Clerk's office on Monday, July 7. Council request the Chair and Vice Chair of SAB be present at the July 22 Study Session to answer questions. IV. New Business: A. Board chose liaison responsibilities. List will be distributed at next meeting. B. The Senior Center Accreditation report was circulated. V. Old Business: A. Darren Gunn presented a letter he drafted on behalf of the Senior Advisory Board regarding the funding cutbacks of the Senior Services Program of Catholic Charities Northern. There was a suggestion that it would be beneficial for a member of the United Way to speak at an SAB meeting. Darren will arrange. Mike Richardson made a motion to accept letter, Bud Herin second the motion. The motion was carried. Marjorie McTaggart suggested sending a copy of the letter to the Catholic Charities Northern. B. The 9 Health Fair will be held April 11`h & 12`h from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. A questionnaire will be devised at the executive meeting on March 3lst at 3:30 p.m. C. Bud Herin made a motion to accept the Work Plan; Dianne Heath :;econded the motion. Motion carried. D. Marcile Wood Award — Jo Thompson will be awarded at the Lincoln Center on March 5, 2003. March is the National Women's History Month. E. 2003-2005 City Budget recommendations were discussed. Barbara will draft a memo from the work session. V1. Other Business: Steve Budner is working on Tax Day Golf Tournament for the Friends of the Senior Center that will be held at the Mad Russian on Saturday, May 3. The fund raising event needs assistance in locating donations for gift bags that need to have 128 identical items for golfers, prize items donated in groups of 4, or something for the silent auction. The Senior Advisory Board will get a team together for the event. Executive Board will meet March 31, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. Next meeting will be on April 9, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. VI.
