HomeMy WebLinkAboutCitizen Review Board - Minutes - 09/17/2003Citizen Review Board Meeting Minutes September 17, 2003 Present: Becky Richardson, Maria Martinez, Monica Garcia, Brian Carroll, David Evans, Harry Edwards Staff: Lt. Jim Broderick, Greg Tempel, Wendy Hartzell Absent: Jim Butzek The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Approval of minutes: The minutes from the August meeting were reviewed. Harry Edwards made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Maria Martinez seconded the motion. There was no discussion and the motion passed 6-0. Review of absences: Jim Butzek's absence was approved as he had submitted written notice of his absence before the meeting. Becky Richardson submitted a written notice of absence for the October meeting, and Brian Carroll submitted written notice for the November meeting. Voice mail messages: None. Public: None. New Business: Lt. Broderick explained that Sgt. Christensen may attend subcommittee meetings and that he would most likely be attending the monthly CRB meetings. Brian Carroll asked what the perception of the Board is among patrol officers. Lt. Broderick stated that he didn't know of any negative perception about the Board, but that he also hadn't had a lot of discussion with officers one way or the other. He stated that he is open to Board feedback and suggestions. His email is ibroderick(a)fcgov.com, telephone is 416-2189. Pending Cases: Case #2003-4 — The subcommittee considering this matter has completed its deliberation. Subcommittee Chairperson Jim Butzek was sending out the subcommittee review findings memorandum. Lt. Broderick reported that two new cases would likely be ready for CRB subcommittee review before the next meeting of the CRB. Broderick reported that Case #2003-19 should be delivered to the Board by October 14. Investigation on Case #2003-23 is almost complete. These are the only two cases for review at the moment. Old Business: None. Adjournment: Harry Edwards made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Becky Richardson seconded the motion.
