Support Suprv. — Recreation Division Guest(s) Present: Thomasina Cooper (TEAM Fort Collins) Call Meetina to Order: Chairperson Mera Geis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Approval of Minutes from December 4, 2002: On a motion by Kaise Allen and seconded by Chance Olson, the minutes were unanimously approved (5-0). Agenda Review: No changes. Citizen Participation: Thomasina Cooper from TEAM Fort Collins was introduced. She replaces Came Visintainer. Agenda: DISCUSS SURVEY RESULTS Peggy Bowers distributed the results from the survey that was conducted at local junior and senior high schools. Because there were many graphs containing much information, the Board decided to take them home to review so they could be prepared to discuss the results at the February Board meeting. Youth Advisory Board Minutes January 8, 2003 Page 2 YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER UPDATE/FUND-RAISING Participation report and January calendar distributed. Dave Mosnik is planning to run a 3-on-3 basketball league. Inquiries should be directed to him at the Youth Activity Center. Ski trips to Winter Park have been very successful. NORTHSIDE AZTLAN COMMUNITY CENTER Since the last YAB meeting, the gym floor at the Northside Aztlan Community Center has been replaced. 620 kids attended two different age -group Christmas parties. Poudre High School is to be commended for their fund-raising efforts for this cause. The wrestling program is going well and received some positive coverage recently in the Coloradoan. There are 30 people in the boxing program. As always, tutors are needed for the tutoring program which is held Monday through Thursday, 4:00-6:30 PM. OTHER BUSINESS Since Mandy Hoffer no longer resides in the Urban Growth Area, she will be replaced on the Youth Advisory Board. City Council will endorse her replacement on February 4, 2003.
