Consideration of the agenda III. Approval of minutes from the meeting of January 16, 2002 Ms. Gram moved to approve the minutes Mr. Howe seconded Approved unanimously IV. EDUCO Donation Esther Duke presented a drawing and images of a mural project EDUCO is creating for the North Side Aztlan Center. EDUCO is a local nonprofit organization that works with disadvantaged or at risk youth in after school programs. There are 12 teens, ages 14 to 17, working on this project. The mural will include 3 4' x 8' painted panels. V. Gardens on Spring Creek Proposal Review The selection committee; APP board members, Jim Clark and Tim Buchanan from Forestry/Horticulture and Jim O'Neill from Purchasing, reviewed the Gardens on Spring Creek submission materials. These included written proposals, resumes, letters of reference and slides of previous work. The results were tallied and three artists were selected to proceed with one alternate. 417 West Magnolia • Fort Collins, CO 80521-2646 • (970) 221-6735 • FAX (970) 484-0424 Ms. Liska motioned to accept artists Susan McNulty and Kevin McCasland, Susan Dailey and Dennis Sovick, and William Vielehr as finalist and go to the next level with them asking for specific proposals with the alternate being Bruce Gueswel. Mr. Sherman seconded YES - Ms. Gram, Ms. Liska-Smith, Ms. Carr, Ms. Hixon-Cunningham, Ms. Dale, Mr. Sherman NO- Mr. Howe Motion passed VI. Board Elections The Board discussed options for nominations for Board assignments. Ms. Liska-Smith nominated Mr. Howe for Chairperson of the Board Unanimously Approved Ms. Liska-Smith nominated Ms. Hixon-Cunningham, who was absent, to be the Vice Chairperson contingent on her acceptance Unanimously approved VH. Staff Reports Ms. Martin distributed a written report of staff activities since last month's board meeting. VIH. Other business - Ms. Martin opened discussion on three additional issues. EDUCO donation— Votes were collected and tallied and the mural was accepted by the board. Mr. Howe moved to approve the mural donation Ms. Gram seconded Unanimously approved Elevator Door Imagery — Staff has researched a photographic imaging material that could be adhered to the elevator doors at the Civic Center Parking Structure. The board agreed to pursue this addition. Staff will research historic local transportation images. Oak Street Water Feature — The City plans to renovate the Oak St. Plaza. The 2002 Olympic cauldron was designed by internationally known WET Design based in California. Jim Doyle of WET Design attended high school in Fort Collins.
