Present: Brian Carroll (chair), Monica Garcia, Becky Richardson, Jay Molock
(Alternate)
Others: Greg Temple, Cory Christensen
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. The report was reviewed and the consensus
was that there were two issues at hand.
• Was the investigation sufficient and accurate in regard to officer #1 being not
involved?
• Was the investigation sufficient and accurate in regard to officer #2 being
exonerated?
Brian pointed out thdpage 46 of the officer's reports seemed to be missing. Sgt.
Christensen went to his office and retrieved a copy of page 46 for the subcommittee to
review.
At 6:15 p.m. Becky Richardson stated, "As authorized by City Code section 2-71 (d)(2), I
move to go into executive session for the purpose of receiving and considering evidence
relating to internal investigation number 2001-7 conducted by Police Services." (Note the
executive session was audio recorded.)
At 6:40 p.m. the subcommittee came out of executive session.
The review Subcommittee concludes that the internal investigation conducted by police
services was sufficient and accurate as to its findings/recommendation with respect to officer
#1 not being involved in use of force and officer #2 being exonerated in use of force. Becky
Richardson made a motion, Monica seconded that this conclusion be approved. The motion
carried 3-0.
There was no further discussion. Becky Richardson made a motion to adjourn the meeting,
Brian Carroll seconded, the motion carried 3-0 and the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
