CALL TO ORDER: 3:32 PM 2. AGENDA REVIEW 4. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Powers moved approval of July 19 minutes. Ms. Zola seconded. Unanimously approved 6. NEW BUSINESS a) TRANSFORMER CABINET MURAL PROJECT Ms. Martin presented the designs. The APP Neighborhood Cabinet Mural Project is located near the new community mural by Armondo Silva coordinated by CSU’s LEAP Program and the City’s Neighborhood Services. APP Artists including Chris Bates, Ren Burke, Chelsea Ermer, and Dominique Montaño will be painting six cabinets. The artists and designs were curated to work together on a single site with themes that tie to Silva’s concept and community input. The APP artists joined community outreach held for Silva’s mural to get input from the neighborhood on their designs. The other mural designs presented were the second murals of the season by Allison Ramirez and Shawna Turner. Ms. Barnes moved to accept the designs as presented. Ms. Powers seconded. Unanimously approved b) WATER TREATMENT FACILITY CABINET MURAL Ms. Martin presented the project funded by the APP Water Utility. This is not an electrical cabinet but a different type of cabinet inside the Water Treatment ART IN PUBLIC PLACES REGULAR MEETING 8/16 /20 23 – MINUTES Page 2 Facility. Artist Kristen Vohs was selected by the project team from the pre - approved list. Earlier, she painted two transformer cabinets outside the fence at the site. This mural is on the driveway into the facility and is intended to be seen by, and educate, visitors and tour groups. The mural shows an x-ray view of the dam at Horsetooth Reservoir and the pipes inside that transfer water to the plant. Ms. Zola moved to approve Kristen Vohs design for the Water Treatment Plant Mural. Ms. Sherman seconded. Unanimously approved. c) SPONSORED TRAFFIC BOX MURAL Ms. Martin shared the design by Chris Bates. This is sponsored and paid for by the Maple Hill HOA. The board appreciated the involvement of the HOA. Ms. Powers moved to approve the sponsored traffic box mural design by Chris Bares on resolution of the question about the missing part of the design . Mr. Staten seconded. Unanimously approved. d) APP WORK PLAN Ms. Martin shared the most recent Work Plan as a model to start the discussion about this year’s Work Plan. This is one of the yearly documents the Board creates for City Council. She asked the Board to review it as a starting point for the 2024 Work Plan. 7. STAFF REPORT Ms. Martin shared highlights from the report. The report will be emailed to the Board. 8. OTHER BUSINESS Ms. Bauer asked for updates about the Bus Advertising. Ms. Martin shared that there weren’t any updates as far as adverting but staff is checking into opportunities for more art at the stops. 9.
